Singing stimulates brain activity and enables people to express themselves, feel positive and make new friends. It is not necessary to have experience of singing or to read music. We teach new material together with well-known songs which evoke verbal and emotional memories. New songs will be taught to help challenge and extend skills.
Two groups meet on alternate Mondays either at Battle or Wannock. The Cross in Hand sessions meet on alternate Fridays. Please see the weekly session tab for the current dates.
The groups attract between 20-40 local people to the venues. The sessions last 1 1/2 – 2 hrs and include a refreshment break which offers the opportunity to socialise, share and discuss experiences and difficulties and will thus provide support to carers as well as the cared for person.
