Singing stimulates brain activity and enables people to express themselves, feel positive and make new friends. It is not necessary to have experience of singing or to read music.  We teach new material together with well-known songs which evoke verbal and emotional memories. New songs will be taught to help challenge and extend skills.

Two groups meet on alternate Mondays either at Battle or Wannock. The Cross in Hand sessions meet on alternate Fridays. Please see the weekly session tab for the current dates.

The groups attract between 20-40 local people to the venues. The sessions last 1 1/2 – 2 hrs and include a refreshment break which offers the opportunity to socialise, share and discuss experiences and difficulties and will thus provide support to carers as well as the cared for person.

Hello everyone from Louise, Jackie, Jane, Anne, Steve, and Chrissie

Amongst all the doom and gloom we have been subjected to over the past few weeks the Trustees and lead volunteers have create a live online Music for the Memory session for you all to enjoy from the comfort of your homes.

We meet alternate Mondays at 10.30am as this is when the majority of our members are used to singing with us.  The sessions include a welcome, physical warm up, vocal warm up and then singing songs from our MFTM General Songbook (plus other special requests).  The session take approximately 30-40 minutes.

If you would like to join us and sing on a Monday morning please email us and will will send you the zoom meeting information.
